CSI - Kitchen Safety Investigation

Someone call in the forensic team, because we have an investigation on our hands. Well OK, not really but FACS teachers were meant to make learning fun. Am I right? I developed a spin off an idea shared with me by another FACS teacher as well as what I like to call "Pin-spiration." I used this in my Nutrition and Wellness class applying the topic of food safety, however it could be borrowed for additional topics. Much to my surprise, high school students gave this "lab" RAVE reviews! A definite confidence boost for a newbie like myself.  Below I have shared a few pictures from the kitchen safety investigation lab.

Please disregard the messy classroom, these photos were taken back in January (new to the room). I hope this lab sparks some interest and/or ideas for you to use in your own classroom. This lab is super simple to set up and quite the crowd pleaser! Hope you enjoy and don't forget to share the FACS!
